DAY 1 – Nature’s Bounty

Your trip to Vancouver, B.C. starts bright and early. Let’s get your bearings and start with something light yet fulfilling for breakfast. Ever heard of Café Medina? Oh, you’re in for a surprise! Their lavender lattes and delectable waffles are to die for.

After breakfast, it’s time to explore Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park. Trust me, this isn’t just any park. We’re talking about 1,000 acres of lush greenery, scenic seawalls, and cultural landmarks. Rent a bike to circle the seawall or take a leisurely walk. Either way, the views are breathtaking.

By now, you might be feeling a bit peckish. Let’s head to Granville Island Public Market for lunch. This place is a food lover’s paradise. From fresh seafood to artisanal cheeses, you won’t run out of choices. I personally recommend grabbing a bowl of clam chowder from the Lobsterman stall. It’s creamy and incredibly flavorful.

Post-lunch, it’s time for a cultural dive at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. This museum offers an amazing collection of First Nations artifacts and contemporary art. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours here to truly appreciate everything on display.

Next, let’s take a scenic drive (or a bus ride) to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The bridge itself is a thrilling 450 feet long and 230 feet high. For those craving even more adventure, the Treetops Adventure and Cliffwalk are a must.

For dinner, let’s switch gears and treat ourselves to some fine dining. Head over to Blue Water Cafe in Yaletown. It’s one of the city’s top spots for seafood. The sashimi is particularly fresh, and their diverse menu ensures there’s something for everyone.

DAY 2 – The Vibe of Vancouver

Kicking off your morning the right way is essential. So head to Revolver in Gastown, which serves some of the best coffee in the city. Pair your brew with a freshly baked pastry, and you’re good to go.

Then explore Gastown itself. This historic area is brimming with charm. Don’t miss the famous Steam Clock—it’s quirky and perfect for your Instagram feed or the fam back home. Plus, the cobbled streets and unique shops make for a delightful stroll.

Since you’re already in the area, let’s drop by Vancouver Lookout. For a nominal fee, this observation deck offers 360-degree views of the city. You can either go up in the morning for a fresh perspective or save it for later if you want a nice sunset experience.

Afraid of heights? Alternatively, VanDusen Botanical Garden has beautifully themed gardens where you can enjoy the serene environment.

By now it should be lunchtime and Chinatown is just a short distance away. The dim sum at Jade Dynasty Restaurant is practically a rite of passage. The BBQ pork buns and shrimp dumplings are crowd favorites (Explorer Sue likes them too.)

Ready for an afternoon of art? Head over to the Vancouver Art Gallery. The collection spans everything from historical pieces to contemporary art. Plus, the rotating exhibitions ensure there’s always something new to see.

Science World is another must-visit, especially if you’re traveling with kids. This place isn’t just for children, though—who can resist hands-on exhibits and an OMNIMAX theatre?

Dinner on Day 2 calls for some Italian flair. Make a reservation at Ask For Luigi. It’s a cozy spot famous for its homemade pasta. Try the pappardelle with ragu; it’s hearty and comforting.

DAY 3 – Beaches, Museums, and Markets, Oh My!

Start your final day in Vancouver with a visit to Purebread in Gastown. This bakery’s mouth-watering array of pastries and baked goods is legendary. A chocolate almond croissant will do the trick. Don’t want coffee and pastries twice in a row? Be sure to head further down this post for alternative recommendations for all three meals!

After breakfast, venture to English Bay Beach. It’s a perfect spot for a morning walk. The serene environment is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the start of your day. Alternatively, a sunset stroll here is one of the most romantic things you can do in Vancouver.

Afterwards, take a water taxi to Granville Island if you missed it on Day 1, or return to discover more shops and crafts. This artistic hub is full of local artisans and unique finds.

When hunger strikes, visit The Sandbar on Granville Island for lunch. Their seafood tower is an extravagant treat, but the crab and shrimp sandwiches are just as delightful if you prefer something simple.

For an afternoon activity, consider a visit to Kitsilano Beach and the nearby Kitsilano Pool. The views of the mountains from here are stunning. If you’re a fan of swimming, the saltwater pool is a fantastic option.

Want to delve into local history? The Vancouver Maritime Museum offers a detailed look at the city’s seafaring past. It’s an engaging spot for history buffs and curious minds alike.

Now, let’s head to Lonsdale Quay Market on the North Shore. You can take the SeaBus from Waterfront Station downtown, which is an experience in itself. The market is full of local goodies and is a feast for both the eyes and the stomach.

But you’ll want to save room for dinner during your final night in Vancouver and should be exceptional! So head to Vij’s for some upscale Indian cuisine. The lamb popsicles and wine-marinated lamb are highly recommended. Make sure to arrive early since they don’t take reservations.
