One such hidden gem is Hug Point State Recreation Site, where you can discover a series of small waterfalls cascading right on the beach, caves carved by the relentless surf, and, if you time it right, remnants of the old stagecoach road. The beach itself is a nice spot with a small parking lot, so be sure to grab your spot early on nice days. Another spot to explore is Shore Acres State Park, famed for its stunning botanical gardens perched on dramatic cliffs. Here, you can enjoy vibrant blooms and expansive ocean views, often accompanied by sea lions and migrating whales. Don’t miss Thor’s Well at Cape Perpetua, a mesmerizing natural sinkhole that looks like it’s draining the Pacific Ocean in a never-ending loop.
